HomiPlay File Access

The file was never uploaded. You can still get it.

Left an important file on another computer? As long as that device is powered on, online, and running HomiPlay, open the remote file manager to browse its folders and retrieve the file.

Cloud storage

The file must be uploaded or synced before you can use it elsewhere.

HomiPlay

Access the file directly from your own device when you need it.

Your files can stay where they are—and still be within reach.

Frequently asked questions

What is HomiPlay?

HomiPlay is one place to access your personal devices. After signing in, use the device list to retrieve files, open a remote desktop, use a terminal, or access services on your devices—without configuring IP addresses, ports, or router forwarding yourself.

Does HomiPlay only connect to devices at home?

No. A device can be at home, the office, your studio, or elsewhere as long as HomiPlay is installed and the device is powered on and online. Home Center can also provide access to other devices on the same network that cannot run HomiPlay.

Do I need to configure my router or NAT?

Not for normal device-to-device connections. After installation and sign-in, HomiPlay handles device discovery and the connection path automatically. Full-traffic and specific-subnet options in Home Center are available for advanced needs.

Are HomiPlay connections always P2P?

HomiPlay first attempts a direct P2P connection. If network conditions prevent that, it switches automatically to an official HomiPlay Relay. Content remains encrypted through the Relay, which cannot view it.

Does the remote device need to stay powered on?

Yes. It must remain powered on, online, and running HomiPlay in the background. Wake-on-LAN is not currently supported, so a sleeping or powered-off device cannot be reached.

Do phones and computers support the same features?

Desktop versions can operate other devices and be accessed with the full feature set. Phones can operate other devices and support file transfer. When a phone is the remote device, its screen can currently be viewed but not controlled. See each platform page for current availability.

Can HomiPlay see my files or remote-session content?

No. Files, remote desktop sessions, and other transmitted content remain encrypted, and neither HomiPlay nor its Relay can view that content. The service still processes necessary account, device, and connection metadata for service delivery and troubleshooting. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I share a device with someone else?

Yes. File transfer, remote desktop, and terminal access can be granted separately. By default, the owner is asked to approve each operation; unattended access can also be enabled. Owners can revoke sharing and interrupt active operations immediately, and recipients cannot reshare the device.

Can I use HomiPlay for free indefinitely?

Yes. The Free Plan is available indefinitely. New accounts receive a 7-day Pro trial without a credit card. After the trial, the account returns to the Free Plan automatically and keeps existing devices and connection settings. See the Free and Pro comparison for detailed limits.
